Anyone else have a recipe?

Well it's in the oven now....want pictures? LOL

I don't know if it'll taste the same......but that cake she had was awesome. The lady that makes them charges $14 for one, 9x13 pan. And even tho it's easier to me to make it at home. I think I'd pay that for one.

Big Muddy...if it's Good, I'll share the recipe...then you will hafta be super nice to someone or make it yourself....then you can taste LOL

Try this one, jl. She said she had a quick, easy, healthy one, too. After she said 'healthy' I told her to forget that one. But if you want it, let me know.

====================

Pumpkin Spice Cake

2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup canola or vegetable oil
4 eggs
16oz fresh pumpkin (or canned-yuk)

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 13 x 9 inch cake pan. Sift all dry ingredients. In a large bowl combined sifted mixture with all other ingredients making sure to mix well after each addition using an electric mixer at medium speed for two minutes or until well blended. Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 35 minutes or until tester comes out clean when inserted in the center. Cool on rack.

LOL that looks to be almost exactly what I just made. It turned out ok, but it's NOT the same cake that I had at Christmas. Since that woman sells her cakes.......I doubt she'll share the recipe.

Try putting some rum on the cake bread, let it sit over nite in the fridge! You decide how much ' spice' you want in it....but man it does make it good!

My cook/washwoman/moplady/rakehand said that you might can duplicate the taste you're after by taking out some of the pumpkin and replacing it with equal amounts of apple butter. Just experiment with it until you get the ratio that you like.

Also, she said that if you haven't ever been to this site, go check it out and you might find what you're looking for:

Yes the icing was 1 stick of butter, 3 Tbls Cream or 1/2n1/2, bout 1 1/2 c powdered sugar, and coconut......all melted while on the stove.....

I hafta say. if it weren't for the icing the cake isn't very sweet at all.

Tomorrow night....nanner puddin......got all the ingredients for that at the store today......Mr Lilly has a smile on his face now..he loves nanner puddin.
