Anybody know where you find those charts that show you which month of the year the prices are up or down for all weights of calves? I know I saw one before Christmas but I can't seem to find it now. I looked on the Canfax homepage and don't see a thing. I'd like to find one that shows that as well as an average over the last 10 years.
I know that prices this time of year typically taper off till later in the spring/summer, but I want to see some numbers. Keeping our calves on the cows right now is costing very little, but I'm just not sure how long I want to grass them this summer. The steers and heifers combined right now would average 600lbs, by April 15th they should be 700lbs and ready to go out on stockpiled grass. If they gain 1.5lbs/day for 120-150 days they'll be 850-950 weights for mid-August/September, and prices are usually better by then.
Northern, isn't that when the Campbells typically sell? I can't remember.
