The sales for this years calf crop have been very good so far in our part of the world. As long as something silly doesn't happen I think everyone should get a decent check this fall. Here is what some of our customers have gotten so far this year privately or on video. These are all vaccinated and are Source & Age Tagged.

This week we placed a bull customers 2 loads of 510 lbs steers for Oct delivery at $1.30 and last week we placed 2 loads of customers steers and heifers for Oct. delivery of 685 lbs steers at $1.20 and 635 lbs heifers $6 back. Both of these ranches were from ND

A few weeks ago we placed a customers 335 steers that were weighing 590 lbs on Superior Livestock for Oct. delivery for $123.50/cwt. They are from Northern MT.

We placed another customers 288 head that weighed 575 lbs for $125.5/cwt that sold over Cattle Country Video. They are from western SD and it was also Oct. delivery.

A customer had a 95 head of steer calves that weighed 575 lbs and sold for $130.50.

Had a customer from Nevada sell a load of 610 lbs steers sold for $116.50, they are a long way from feedlots.

It is nice to see the optimism in our industry again.

How have the prices been in your area?

I clicked on the link, and got to the homepage, but it says
that lot has been deleted. Regardless, congratulations on a
great sale!! What were the weights and delivery date? Were
they weaned calves or right off the cow?

Thanks!

So how did they fill that load, since it wasn't a full load? Just curious
as to how that works. Do you have to make up the freight since it
isn't a full load?

Anyhow, great sale!!!

 Oh gosh, I saw the 45 (vac 45) and misread it as 45
steers. I apologize...sincerely.

I hope the prices hold and everyone gets a good price for their
calves.
