Ranchers.net

Odd question for y'all but thought maybe this would be the easiest way to get some connections. I'm a 3rd year DVM student looking for an opportunity to help calve over spring break (about March 15-23rd, give or take). I've worked on feedlots (up to 40,000 hd) and ranches (up to 4500 hd) and am told I'm a good hand. I've got a fairly versatile set of skills from cattle to herd data analysis, fencing, feeding (driving tractors, not mechanics), doctoring (obviously), horses (riding/training, not shoeing), and play well with others. I've been offered the opportunity to work on one of the feedlots over break, but... I like seeing new country.

The biggest catch is that I'm looking for a large enough operation that could use the help over spring break... pulling 2 or 3 calves in a week gets fairly boring for a vet. I'm in eastern Washington, happy to travel within reason - or slightly more if someone will cover travel expenses. I have a passport and would be interested in going into Canada too. Reply or send me a PM if you have comments or ideas. Thanks-
