I had the vets out today to look at one of my calves, found him yesterday morning staggering, not nursing, and labouring to breathe. Every breath was a major effort. Vet took his temp, felt around his neck, looked down his throat with a flashlight, and pronounced my calf had larangitis (sp?). Anybody ever hear of such a thing happening to a calf before?

We had one like that, kept it and it's mother in a pen, treated the calf with dura pen a couple times, cleared up nicely. We were thinking wooden tongue, but maybe it was just laryngitis. Either way, got it cured :D
