Was at a baseball game tonight watching a local Summer Collegiate players wooden bat team play in Joplin MO. (Slashers), Was sitting down by the dugout and out of nowhere I hear an Eh, something I have never heard in this area. Thinking it is nonothing stalking me I investigated.

Turns out it was a player from Toronto Canada. Pretty good pitcher Leslie Williams, heard he played on the Canadian National Team last year.

I was relieved to find out that it was not nonothing stalking me, well unless nonothing is a Big Black Canadian that throws 94 mph fast ball

Ps. Wondering do Canadians say Eh-Man at Church after prayer?.....

Ps.2 Any of your Canadians familiar with this player? Guess he is down here in America going to college at Northeastern

Funny,I don't even notice the Ehh thing,a few weeks ago I was talking to an American with a pretty strong accent,he sure got a chuckle when I said Ehh,didn't realise I had even said it.Said my accent was way stronger then his.LOL

I'm a huge sports fan,its mainly what I watch if TV's on but Baseball just has never been one I've watched a lot, guess cause theres not a lot of Canadian teams{are the Bluejays still playing?}I loved going with my dad to watch ball when I was young but just don't see it anymore.

.

I was talking to a neighbor gal- who is the sweetest gal from Saskatchewan who married a local rancher....She was in Canada working and knew I'd lost my old female border collie, so called me because she thought she had found a pup for me...
Anyway- long story short- I had to chuckle each time she said "collie" with her Canadian accent- it was a hoot....  :p

I was also told by another Canadian girlfriend that lives here that now that we have the new Event Center/Hockey Center she and several others have arranged to start up a "curling league"
Our part of the country is getting as Canadianized as the Mexicans are doing to the south.....   :p

On my trips to Canada it's always said what a strong accent I have. While there I'm thinking what accents they have. Plus the eh thing: it can be a question and a statement both I've noticed. :?

Couple years ago went to a Tulsa Oilers Hockey game and there was plenty of Canadian players on both the teams playing.

But I did not know you guys played baseball up there nor that you had Black people

Ps. With Shania Twain back on the free market I guess the chances that I may one day be a legal Canadian citizen by marriage is possible once again. If she would just return my calls or letters and quit having her security guards run me out of the trees outside her home. :(

We have a college team and a new 1500 seat stadium near us. Awesome ball. They play teams from Western Canada and the Western States. The same town of 12000 people has 20 diamonds that are booked solid all summer with fast, slow and hard ball. Soccer is rivaling baseball now as a summer pastime with at least as many pitches as diamonds. You can't go far without passing a golf course as well. As far as eh goes, I embrace the fact we have one more word in our vocabulary.
