The above post actually makes me quite angry. That in itself is a true rarity - but then again I usually do not read posts like this.
Whether I could be considered angry, deluded, selfish or whether I could be considered vain - you decide after reading my response.

Have you considered what the cost of doing nothing might be? Of course not - it is not happening here - it is happening somewhere else. Of course you might also be thinking like someone from Cana-DUH instead of Canada.
No one is hiding - but this will simply turn into a media circus and expose most of Cana-DUH for what it is - and prove the leaders of the Taliban right - a weak and ineffectual country.
Your comments are so much bull schitzen! I actually would love to be in someones face to ask the following questions: Where were you when the Canadians were killed in all of the past peace keeping roles? In fact why did you allow it to be called peace keeping? It was Peace MAKING. With little to no public support - other than the drivel in various papers - squawking about how we were doing so well building new schools.
In fact most of us were shooting to kill and doing our damndest to stay alive. When I gathered up XXXX and YYYY and ZZZZZZ and put them in boxes - literally and figuratively - the media and the general population gave us little to no thought - then filed us away - hell I am not so sure there was anyone who even knew - maybe we made the back pages of the want ads section.
Your comments make me pause for a second - if only to count to ten - if you and those around you were serious you would be on your local politicos back - not making empty statements here on this thread. Bet you complain at the coffee shop and never make the effort to contact your elected rep. Have you ever come up with a solution?
I cannot say why we are there because no one seems to talk about Afganistan here
We are there because the Liberal government committed us to the action - once committed it cannot be uncommitted simply by saying "I want to leave this party and go home".
To think like that simply shows how the idiot left wingers from Cana-DUH have won the battle. Leaving would allow Taliban to come in and "do their thing". If you have to ask what that really means, it shows you have no concept of life in a third world country and have become soft and spolied in your own protected life.
These young men and women fight under our flag, and not because they want to but are asked or even told too...I think seeing thier and their family's cost is something all Canadains need to see to understand ,the price of war
When you take the Queen's Shilling you better be ready to die. Anyone who thinks differently lives in Cana-DUH - not the real world of military and bullets and bombs. Military forces kill people and blow **** up.
That is what they are designed to do. If you think their main job is humanitarian you are truly out to lunch. Boys and girls who sign on do so with the full knowledge they are at risk. The plan is not to get killed - but sadly it happens - accept it and move on. Or stay out of the organization.
We have Four soldiers come back in coffins after giving their lives in the name of Canada, and not even a public service for us to mourn our loss.
We have had HUNDREDS!!! come back from various duties around the world over the past 30 years and NOT ONE FRIGGING PEEP ffrom folks like you!!!!!!
And you allowed it to be called it PEACE KEEPING. In fact it was PEACE MAKING!! A huge difference and you fell for that sop as well I bet.
In fact this was simpy a political trap by that lying bastard Chretien and his supporters to create an air of caring. And YOU SWALLOWED THE BAIT. Where were you for all the others?????
You are either weak or stupid or insipid or all of them put together.
When the rcmp had men killed in action,in Alberta, they let the country grieve in a public telivised service..It was respectful and full of class,it brought closer and reconition to the whole country
Politics - nothing more and nothing less. What have you done about the justice system to correct the problems that caused this? Nothing!! Admit it. Or deny it - because we could never prove it anyways. You are happy to sound like a person who cares - but you live in Cana-DUH.
You know something - I bet you even believe the media tells the truth.
here in canada we lose four hero's from the same war and our leader does not even show up to thier homecomming.......sorry for my rant, but these men deserve better
You do not get it. This is not a dirty little squabble that will go away in a few weeks, months or years. This is going to be full blown. Iran will go nuke and there will be even bigger probs. Your leaders will not have time to go to the airport on a daily basis - and that is where we are going.
Even better - you think this is not coming here. Get your head out of your ass - it is coming - next week - next year - it will arrive.
Stop thinking like a person from Cana-DUH and start thinking like a person from the middle east. If your thoughts do not scare you then you are an even bigger fool than you sound like. Do not think for an instant you can negotiate.
Islamists do not negotiate. Islam translates into submission. You will submit - or you will die. Think I am wrong? Go see for yourself - if you dare.
I have been there and I have the holes to prove it. I will apologize to those whom I have offended - but this post is indicative of the problems we have at home. Canada was once a very different place. It is now inhabited in large part by people from Cana-DUH - living very sheltered and protected lives - much of that shelter and protection coming from the neighbours to the south.
Canada once had the worlds second largest Navy and third largest airforce. Now it is a whisper.
People join the military for two reasons - usually to better their lives - through ..... whatever - education training and so on. They also join for adventure. While there are other reasons, these are the two most common.
But they also can and will be put at risk should they decide to take up the profession of arms. Anyone who does not realize this is living on another planet.
People who join up - tend to - once in a while - die. They are not heroes and they are not villains. They are simply folks who did their job to the best of their ability.
As a friend once said to me - The best posts you regret are the ones you write when you are angry. Your statements are those of the uneducated - time you started to think like a real person rather than a clone of the media.
Time for those who live in their protected worlds to look at life differently - if even for a few moments - they might learn something.
I think I will go check some fences.
