The link below will take you to a column written by Conrad Black, a prominent writer and businessman who sits in prison in Florida due to his ineptitude at escaping the charges of white collar crime. It seems that some are better than others at doing this.
However, Black, in this column of his, is at his best in describing how his experience as a recipient of enforced state hospitality has affected both his life and the lives of a number of people whose paths have crossed his in that setting.
As much as I have always admired Black's way with words and ideas, he seems to scale some new levels in both literary and social achievements in this piece.
Some of the follow-up responses alone are worth the read!
