Caroline Kennedy as Senator?

Altho I'm not a Kennedy family fan- or a lot of their usual leanings in politics- I'm not sure where Caroline sits on the issues...

One thing she definitely doesn't need the money- so wouldn't be influenced by that-- and has no real history of ties to D.C. or lobbyiests like many of the long time politicians have...

They were saying on TV- that besides her about a dozen others are vying for the seat including Cuomo and the Nanny, Fran Dressler....

....

Since when does not needing money make them not be influenced by it? You think McCain needed money? But you still liked to paint him as a person who catered to special interest groups. Politics are full of politicians that do not need money but still make bad decisions many times in relation to money!

She's never held a job in her life. A lawyer but no practice. Definitely shouldn't be a senator but judging by the 500 plus up there now she might actually improve the place.

NO..............NO....................NO..........................NO

Why not?

It's not owed to her like some seem to think.

She has no experience

If she gets it...it's arse kissing at it's finest.

But instead of just being able to see Russia, I'll bet Caroline has been there   :p :p

LOL No "Arse kissing at it's finest" was the kissing a junior senator from the most corrupt city in the US did to get elected President. Want to guess who's backside he kissed to be owed that seat? :???:

Besides what does experience have to do with US politics? Obama proved as long as you have the support of the old boys of the Democratic Party which I'm sure any Kennedy would have, you don't need no stinking experience.

Gosh, I've missed you guys... You sure have a different perspective!

I have to agree that she has minimal qualifications but she is a lawyer and has been active in various causes although nothing too relevant. I suspect that she has focused on her family given all the tragedy in her life and now her kids are older she can consider a job and politics is certainly something she has in her blood. Could be a tribute to her uncle since he is likely dying and is the father figure.

Those are the thoughts off the top of my head. She would be better than Fran the Nanny. And I have heard there's some scandal associated with Cuomo.

Those are good reasons to stay at home. Not be "appointed" as a Senator. Names and associations shouldn't account for anything. First she wanted to be UN ambassador now senator. But I don't live in the state so really doesn't matter what I think.

haha ... no but I did start dating someone new and we've been together 20 months and are quite smitten with each other ... it's been a busy time for me, taking stock and getting back on track. I'm not finished getting back on track but things are good except the economy where I took a major hit. How are you and Mr. Greg???? And family?

We're good! Your kids ,how are they doing? Your son still into music?

Just great. Go to the Coffee Shop and see the new edition to my family.

She's four, spoiled as hell, and a complete joy. Been a fun year and a half.

Glad she came along and filled the void you left me with in your absence here.
