Just checked a Monday sale here in TN. 600lb heifers brought 1.25lb, I watched them sell for 1.60 to 1.65 over the internet in some western sales yesterday. Does it take .40 lb to get them across the mississippi river to the feedlots?? I understand quality could be an issue along with lot numbers but Geesh seems like a lot of difference to me.

Cattle producers pay for transportation to the feedlot.

Consumers pay for the meat to be shipped back.
