Cows up for auction are being bought and sold today in Aberdeen, but some that raise cattle say they don't want cows from Canada coming in.

"Personally I don't feel that we need to have that type of meat brought into this country."
That type of meat is from cows older than thirty months. The U.S.D.A says starting next month they are going to allow the older cows in and that has many cattlemen fired up.
"I feel like Canada they should be able to control there own numbers up there. I mean that's their situation. We have a separate situation with our cows here. We've done a really good job of keeping them healthy and culling the old cows out."
Many cattlemen say that cows raised right here in the U.S. are healthier and safer than cows coming from Canada.
Those involved with cattle say that U.S. cattle are fed more natural product, have source verification, and do not use as many growth hormones.
Cattlemen say this makes U.S. cows better and they don't mind going to court to prove it.
"Unfortunately if that's what it takes to make it known how we feel about it I guess that's what it's going to take."
