HELENA, Mont. (AP) - The U.S. Census Bureau says Montana is
leading the nation in the rate of returned 2010 Census forms.

One-third of Montana households that have received mailed
Census forms have returned them, as of Tuesday.

South Dakota is second at 31 percent, followed by Nebraska at 30 percent and
Wyoming and North Dakota, both with a 28.9 percent return rate.

The national mail participation rate was 16 percent.

I'm doing a little research to find out just exactly which parts I have to fill out, and which parts are a gross overstepping of the governments boundaries.

From what I've gathered so far, the government is allowed an enumeration of the people once every ten years. That's about the extent of it.

I'm not a good little child of the government like you, OT.

Nothing on there the government doesn't already know-- and I have nothing to hide anyway...

Isn't making a false claim illegal, like making a statement that is post dated??

You know like stateing that that what you say is true prior to the admitted date?????
Does that mean our esteemed judge, sheriff, brand inspector, coroner, resident know it all has made an illegal statementto the federal goevenment??????

OH VEY

I'm afraid that's probably correct.

If your statement is true then why waste billions to find out what they already know. :???:

Because the government HAS to spend money. It is a sickness. A disease. An illness. They will continue to spend money until the U.S.A. is no longer able to be the world power they once were.

Because a little piece of paper called the US Constitution says they shall be done to verify/update that info-- and have been done so since 1790- and there have been 21 federal censuses since that time...

Only personal info is your age/birthdate and your race and who lives at your house- which government and all your neighbors (or in many cases like our area, the entire community) already knows...

But the paranoids are convinced this is part of the big conspiracy to end the country as we know it   :p

Census date used reapportion congressional districts, direct federal funding to where it is needed, & some other stuff.

unless you get the long form....

and the cost is still obnoxious...

all they have to do is ask the mail man.. and they would all the "required" have the info to fulfill the law.

We haven't received one yet and I'm not filling the whole thing out.
They give money away like candy, so I think that we should be paid
for our time filling it out. After all, my time is worth something.

Isn't that how the people that elected Obama think?
I'm ENTITLED to get paid for what I do for the government.

Did you fill it out in 1960- when Eisenhower sent it out--- or 1970 when Nixon did-or 1990 when GHW Bush did- or do you just not fill it out when its a Dem President.. :???:

Did you fill it out in 2000 when Clinton sent it out? You may be part of the reason Montana lost a Congressional Representative if you didn't stand up and be counted..

HEY, I was one of the cencus takers in 1970. I can still tell
you stories...but I was sworn to silence and I've never broken
that pledge. You'd be surprised what you find out when you are
a census taker.

The reason I won't fill the whole thing out, (I didn't say I would not
fill any of it out) is because our freedoms are being infringed upon,
and I didn't feel that way then like I do now.

Well like I said- all mine asked for was the names, birthdates, and race of the folks living in the house-- and like I said- thats common knowledge around the county (even Grandmas age)....
Don't know what freedom is being infringed upon- especially when the Constitution directly calls for it...Nothing different than the same thing we've done for 210 years- and that I've done at least 4 or 5 times previously...

Sounds more like cult paranoid hysteria to me....

I am going to fill it out based on past census records. Anyone who has ever done a family tree knows this is the same info.
I know I heard "stories" about them asking all kinds of questions.
Will I put my phone number sure LOL why not?????? I can only imagine the confusion of anyone trying to figure out why I have a NC area code while in Texas too funny. If they call wanting more info then I can tell them no and ask for them to show me where they are entitled to have priviate info.
