A couple of old-timers came in yesterday. These were two very well respected older gentlemen who had a wealth of knowledge and experience between them. Soapweed's father was half of the pair. Of course the conversation went to politics and the one gent made the comment that when WWII started and Germany was gaining territory every day and Japan was kicking our asses in every battle we had with them, there was still no doubt that we eventually would turn the tide and win out. Nobody had any doubt. However now, he has doubts. He's looking at the direction this country is going under the current administration and he's not willing to bet that we're going to survive this one - and this one is self-inflicted.
He also made the comment that the zoo in Omaha had an african lion, but that Washington could beat that as they had a lyin african.
Something to be learned here...
