In honor of our new president-elect, there is a new Christmas drink.

Watermelon juice and gin.

It's called "Nignog."

Now for the real laugher.

I received the above joke in an e-mail this morning from a black friend who helps me from time to time.

He always says humor is colorblind.

I'm not sure about humor, but stupidity certainly is.

Rule #1: Anyone who claims they aren't racist because they have "black friends"....(do I really have to finish?)

You have never seen me say that I wasn't a racist.

so how does that drink go down with crackers?

Really good! Goes down good with fried chicken, ribs, and collards too.

Since I usually raise a few acres of melons each year, I hope it becomes the new sensation.

Would it still have been racist if his friend posted the joke?

Do you think that person would claim to have "black friends"?

Kind of depends on context, now, doesn't it?

I didn't realize the question was so hard. If a black man posted that joke, would it still be a racist joke?

No. Not actually. It is okay for someone to sort of make fun of themselves in jest but it is not okay to make fun of someone else in jest.

It would still be a stupid joke, no matter what. Stupid knows no color!

I sort of disagree with that. A black person could use this as an ice breaker when things seemed tense. It is not the humor but the tension release that would be of value. If a white person used this in such a scenario, it would cause more tension.

So it's a racist joke if Mike says it, but the very same joke is not if a black man says it. I don't buy that. The words didn't change a bit, but the joke changed based on race of the teller.

So then it would be safe to make the logical deduction that the "white person" jokes that Richard Pryor, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, etal say exposes them as racists, too?

Think of it as you making a joke about yourself. Then think of your bro-in-law telling the same joke about you in front of your in-laws.

Husker I could be dead wrong about this. It is just the way I feel. If it were hispanic friends telling jokes about themselves, I would not repeat the joke because it could be perceived as offensive. No matter my intention. There are many other jokes that I could tell.

I don't like Obama but it has nothing to do with race. I did not like Hillary and I love the Hillary jokes. People are still telling them. Obama jokes will probably be great too. Just not jokes that are belittling to a race of people.

damn it Sandy............ that is logical, and we just can not use that here...the libs don't have any, so it is an unfair fight.

racism is ONLY white vs. any one else...because we are the bad guys.
they demand we give up everything because we are responsible for all the bad in minority's lives....

if you want to take a look at how reparations helped the situation, may I point out South Africa????

Far as I'm concerned it would've been!
