Considering using Chiangus bull this time and wondering what anyone that has used them thought. Good and bad. What kind of cows did you use them on and what do they knick well with. Disposition of bulls and their calves.

I doubt there is a gooseneck full of Chi cattle left in sask.-I think I saw one along the road by Wawota about 5 years ago. My most vivid memory of them was 35 years ago when one got it's head through a portable paneled and windrowed a few booths at a cattle exhibit. The first normande bull in North America-Conqueror-was at that same deal. I think ChiAngus bulls on good smaller framed cows would work alright-Deiter bros. sell alot every year.

Our neighbor in SW Montana used them several years ago,
Had some real stout corrals and he had to rebuild them
when the Chiangus cows took them out. They were big and
wild and could they ever jump!

Deiter Bros. sold every beast on the place fall 2009. They had a reputation for some nasty disposition thats for sure.

Just sold the last Chi Angus cow I had. A nice looking 4 year old. Unloaded her at the sale barn and told the receiving guys she had a little hell fire in her. They told me not to worry, they handle that type every week. Long story short, I picked up the insurance check on her last week and was told she is now 5 pastures over from the sale barn! Big, stout and crazy best describes that cross.

In 1995, my dad at age 72 got run over by a Chi-x-Angus bull, and got hurt pretty badly. He wrecked his knee, broke his leg, and shattered the ankle. It took several months before he healed up and was back to normal.

Friends don't let friends buy Chianinas.

Had a neighbor that raised Chi bulls for a SHORT time. He used telephone poles to hang gates on so he could place gates two high. :???:

You know I had some one time. When crossed with a hereford or limo, I had no problem. With the exception with the Limo cross they could get out a cement wall even if there wasn't anything on the other side. But when crossed with the Angus, here comes the rodeo

I've been on this site for several years and I think this is the first time that everyone has agreed with each other. Personally I think they are awesome cattle.

Oh they were some quality cattle. But bad attitudes rule. They go to town. I have dumped the chiangus along with quite a few angus for attitude problems.

I had some ChiAngus cows in the past and never had any problems. I only sold them because I had a difficult time marketing them in my part of the country. They were no snottier than the Reds I raise now.
