Chinas Beef Growth

China's cattle and beef production have grown significantly from 2000 to 2007, with beef production up by more than 48 percent during that span, Nelson said. During the same time, China's annual beginning stocks of beef cows grew by 20 percent (from 60 million head to 71.8 million head), and its annual production of calves grew by 51 percent (from 41.8 million head per year to 63.3 million head per year),

I saw some interesting comments on a blog today--How important will Japans and Koreas (all of Asia's) markets actually be if China is expanding production this fast :???: You'd think it would be much cheaper and easier for China to supply these markets...

Chi-Com's are interested in exports and whether their own country gets a good general diet is not expected. They always want the cheapest currency by at least 3 x .
