You are a Cruel girl--posting those when all our chokecherries hailed out....  :p :p

I love chokecherry jelly-- but I think the best is chokecherry syrup on my "beer sourdough" pancakes....

Well at least your post reminded me to go mix up a batch of pancakes for me and the Grandkids in the morning- and let them ripen a little :D

Yep-- beer instead of water...I like to leave it set overnight- but doesn't have to....Gives it a sourdough taste and texture.....

Are you getting thunderstorms tonite-- looked like a bunch heading into Canada...Split and went on both sides of us  Would have loved a few drops of rain...

THx for that recipe thingy,I'll try that on greg he really likes sourdough bread.

Are we EVER getting thunderstorms, just constant lightning and thunder, wierd no rain at all yet. I don't remember the last time we've had a storm like this, has been many years.

Sorry you aren't getting any rain Mrs. Greh and OT... We have been... blessed?.... by the remnants of Tropical storm or depression or whatever Erin (Or was it Aaron?) the last 36 hours or so and have 2.75 inches more of rain on the ground.. Had a tenth on Saturday too and are schedualed for 1-2 inches/hour tonight when another storm reforms.. Flood warnings all over the place butat least we are suppossed to get some sun today. Can't say I ever recall it being this wet this time of year.. The worse part about thew eather pattern now is we are going to have al this misture and it is going to get hotter than hades out there... Which probably means more storms all week.. Oh well, keeps the grass growing,

Finally after midnite- there was one big clap of thunder and it started raining-- but only rained about 10-15 minutes...Ended up with about a tenth- to go with the tenth the night before-- both of which dried out so fast you couldn't tell it rained...

And this new front really brought in the smoke...I think last night was the first time I layed in bed listening to the rain come down-- but instead of the smell of fresh rain it was a heavy smoke smell coming in...

Good looking jelly there. 8)

I wasn't going to do chokecherries this year, but maybe I should go out and pick some. You've got me inspired now. :D

Chokecherry jelly hint... at the end, before you skim off the foam, add a quarter of a teaspoon of almond extract. It brings out the cherry flavour. Works for Nanking Cherrry jelly too.
