Christmas centerpiece pictures for the gals- sorry!

sorry it took me so long to download these

The women in our church every year have a Christmas lunch/tea and some volunteers decorate a table for 8 and play hostess for that table. About 80 or 90 women attended. One dear soul does all the cooking since she works in a restaurant and they permit her to use their big equipment so it is quite a relaxed affair for the rest of us! She did two kinds of soup, a fruit and nut salad, tea sandwiches, three kinds of scones. There were cookies but I believe they were purchased. A 14 yr old gal with a well developed voice sang while her dad played the guitar- we expect she might go professional some day she is that good.

I thought you might like to see some of the decorated tables. The first one used some African animals for napkin rings and just added red bows.
Some had real Christmas plates and all the finery. Quite a mixture and wish I'd taken more photos. Everyone enjoyed wandering around and getting ideas for next year. Mine was the one with the pile of rocks from our backyard and trees. My great aunt, born on Christmas Day 1900, hand painted the nativity people. I sprayed snow on the rocks, evergreens and trees, added some glitter.

It could be done much more simply to save time for everyone- just cookies and coffee would have done as well. Mainly a time for folks to visit and invite friends. I was sort of wishing we hadn't had a speaker and could just have sung Christmas caroles lead by the teenager

Where do you put the food? No room on the table!

OH- OH-- You're in for it now--That was my thoughts too-- as my crew would eat the centerpieces if there wasn't enough food on there-- I already been chastised for that comment last week-- and informed its for a "tea"... Must be one of those women things

I think I tried "tea" once- and wasn't even sure if good Canadian Rye would make it palatable  :p Don't think I'd make a good Englishman....
