Kind of a plain sorta day Soapweed. :(

Warm and sunny here, we are going to give the heifers their first scour vaccine today while our son is here to help and sort off his last ten head for him to take home with him.

Catch you all later tonight.

Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas Soapweed and family. Those black cows look good and well fed. Time for you and yours to be fed up now the cattle are taken care of. That is how it works at most good outfits.

Merry Christmas Soapweed & Family. Things looked about the same here, snow, windy and just a little colder. Was below 0F most of the day. Windchills were in the -25n to -30F range.

With this breeze we're having, at least we haven't had to stand out in the wind and chop ice! see...I'm always trying to find the bright side of an otherwise miserable situation...lol

Soapweed: I'm curious about the quality of your water...any sulphur or methane in it ? Closest to where you are (that I've worked) is north west of Harrison...we had some methane.

This is the best water in the world, with no sulfur or methane. Some of the natural lakes are a bit alkaline, but the underground water is great. You can get a drink from the filling pipes at any of our windmills.

I don't suppose you heard that 'Big Brother' is passing (or has already passed) a law that regulates any/all fresh-water sources nationwide; I'm wondering if I'm the only one out here having nightmares of Gov't officials attaching water-meters to every windmill and well-source they can find. As if the taxes were'nt high enough...this new bill could potentially be the final death-knell for ranching as we know it.
