CHRISTMAS tree's

made the mistake of SUGGESTING a fake tree to the riley/ralphie and the look in his eyes killed that idea in it's tracks!!! poor kid...you'd have thought i had just shot his dog!!!   so....another tiny, but REAL, tree again this year!!

Boy there nuthin that will make a house smell as good as a real Christmas Tree, but living in the TX Hill country, I usually just cut me a small cedar tree, nuthin like a real pine and or Douglas Fir but, those have got pretty pricey around here, and with no youngsters around, aint worth the expense, so probably another small cedar tree.
Merry Christmas.

When we lived in SW Montana, we had some Douglas fir (I think that's
what they were) on our place. Our daughter and a real good friend of ours
would go horseback, find a tree and cut it down and drag it in to the
house for our Christmas tree. When I see the Leanin' Tree cards that
show someone horseback dragging a fir tree, I think about those
young people bringing ours in. Too bad I didn't take a picture of it.
But the memory is great!
