I know it's not somethin we wanna think about right now, Christmas shoppin ....UGHHHH!!! but for those of us that do some handmade gifts right about now is the time to start thinkin about what we'll make. I was wonderin what kinda ideas some of you all out there might have for handmade Christmas gifts. I"m hopin to get a few ideas from you all. Only thing so far I've thought of is a denim quilt for Lil Lilly. That's gonna be hard to keep hidden while workin on it too.

Come on gals, share some of your crafty skills with us all. I've always thought handmade gifts were much more meaninful, and people will keep and use them. It's a lil peice of yourself when you give a handmade item as a gift.

back in 1980, my mom made my dad a quilt....simple and true!!! She took old pairs of jeans that were no longer "wearable" and attached these pieces to a thermal blanket!! Inside one of the "pockets" she sewed in a penny with the year 1980 on it and when dad unwrapped it in front of everyone, the contest was on....the person who "found" the penny would get the next quilt!! When my dad moved to North Dakota last year, he left me his quilt!! Danged thing is pretty ragged, but still keeps us warmer than any fancy, store-bought down-filled quilt!!

As for me, I make alot of home-baked goodies for the holidays...my sister loves to make those fleece blankets that you just tie the edges...plenty warm, those are!! I will probably work on a quilt for my boys and a "senior year" scrap book for the demodriver!!
