Chrysler should have died on the vine.

Chrysler should have died on the vine. It should not have been bailed out. The reasons are 1. it was a private owned company, Hedge funds were the owner. 2. Fiat the government owned company that has CNH. You cannot get any parts for the Case-IH tractors. They figure you can park the old tractor and buy a new one. If Chrysler had died as it should have then the other car companies in the US would have took up the slack. All of the companies are in the same geographical area and the workers could have picked up their lunch box and moved to a new job. Chrysler's CEO Bob Nardelli nearly broke Home Depot before the Board run his Azz off. Just another example of a CEO that could not cut it. Looks like some companies just keep hiring the same old bunch to manage over and over.

One word......................... "Unions" aka UAW................

They are controlling the purse strings in the auto business. Payback time.

I agree with you whole heartedly. Like my one Senator said, "where does it [bailouts] stop"?

Saw someone explaining how bad the Chrysler deal could be for Ford, something about if the Unions get control of Chrysler or own a controlling interest in it that they could then leverage against Ford by picketing them to make Ford give same contract.

Did not understand all of it, have not really followed this whole car industry thing that much to know what is going on day to day. All I know is I will by Ford or Toyota in future, even though I always been a Chevy man all the way back to the 1970 Chevelle siting in the driveway. But if Ford did not take bail out money, we as Americans owe them our patronage!
