I'm amazed that no more unrest than this is going on about cops.

Have a good friend on the PD here, small force, he's in trainimg and swat. Last week there was a suicide by cop at the wal-mart. Guy lost his daughter, wife, newborn in the last 2 years. Anyway, 3 cops show up, confront the man, one cop pulls gun and taser at the same time, one freezes, 3rd shoots 3 times, guy disabled, dies that night.
Police chief going through divorce, girlfriend pregnant, had to lower gun range standards so he could pass.
Officers need gun parts and training, too expensive, make do.
Police force hasn't had pay increase in 6 years, force a bit of age, several retiring, others just leaving, oilfielfd too good to stay. Solution to manpower shortage, lower standards, hire more cadets. Last class one canned for looking down gun barrel to see if gun loaded, one for discharge of unloaded gun in class, one has gun fall apart when fired, left out a few parts. This is just a hint of the problem and we are in a fairly small town.
