"As Shi'ite pilgrims massed in Kerbala to observe Arbain, one man, Jassim Hamoud, took a break from the rituals to reflect on his country's troubles three years after the invasion.
"We expected positive things after 35 years of dictatorship, but things moved in the opposite direction. Killings and destruction have prevailed," said the merchant, who had walked for several days from his hometown to attend the rituals.
"There have been no changes in three years and we are on the edge of war and destruction. American forces have destroyed everything," Hamoud said."
