Clinton: Romney is Qualified for the Presidency

This is a turn of events:

President Bill Clinton ditched his Democratic talking points Thursday night, telling his TV interviewer that Gov. Mitt Romney’s investment capital work qualifies him for the presidency.

“This is good work… There’s no question that a man who has been a governor and has a sterling business career crosses the qualification threshold,” he said on CNN.

Republicans hope that statement could deeply damage Obama’s effort to paint Romney as unqualified and irresponsible, and a short portion of the interview was showcased Friday morning by emails from the Republican National Committee.

Clinton and Obama have been rivals since 2007, when Obama challenged and eventually defeated Hillary Clinton in the hard-fought Democratic primaries leading up the 2008 election. Without Obama, Bill Clinton would likely be in the White House as first spouse to President Hillary Clinton. (RELATED: Clinton gives Obama faint praise)

In the CNN interview, Clinton provided some support for Obama’s argument that the 2012 election is a choice between the programs pushed by Romney and Obama, and not a referendum on the current president.

A referendum-style election could be problematic for Obama because the nation has suffered through record debts and deficits, record unemployment and sharp political divisions during his time in the White House.

For voters, Clinton said, “the real issue ought to be what has Governor Romney advocated in the campaign that he will do as president, what has President Obama done and what does he propose to do.”

“That’s the most relevant thing.”

Did you hear the new ad out that has Clinton talking about how the Economy is NOT FIXED and Obama claiming if he didn't turn things around in three years he would be a term President.

Clinton was out on the campaign trail the other day and I'm think he didn't like the fact Hillary was being blamed for Libya so he gave the Republicans a nice little quote about how Obama hasn't fixed the economy YET. And they ate it up in seconds.

Obama better pull Hillary and her State Department back out from under the campaign bus if he is going to keep Bill out stumping for him.

Let's face it folks, after what occurred in 2008 with the community organizer, when discussing whether Candidate A or Candidate B is qualified to be president, virtually anyone, anywhere can now be considered qualified.

Funny that now conservatives are liking what Bill Clinton says. You would think a Clinton endorsement would actually hurt Romney, as it points out the fact there isn't much difference between the two candidates on significant issues, as this video demonstrates.

I don't think anyone said they take what Bill Clinton says with much seriousness. It is merely for the enjoyment of the leftwingernuts and see which way they turn, do they believe what he says or do they not trust him

I could care less about what Clinton says as he is a sleazy rapist in my books but the funny part is he is suppose to be stumping for Obama and he is speaking about Romney being qualified and how the Economy is not fixed after Obama said if he didn't have it fixed in three years he would be a ONE TERM PRESIDENT. If this is the best the Dems can do to pump up their candidate I FIND THAT FUNNY.
