Rachel,

WELCOME TO THE HERD!!! You will love it here! Bunch of friendlier hooligans you will never meet!

I am an avid black coffee drinker. However everyonce in a while I go a bit nuts. this is my secret potion:

1/4 TSP Watkins vanilla nut extract (YUMMMYYYYYY)
1/2 TSP of Sugar
Cream to your preference.

This coffee is ideal with a cinn bun or coffee cake and of course really coffee can only be made from the tim hortons stuff :)

It is sooo good! I only use the watkins products, they really do make a huge difference in your baking etc. Once you have the watkins stuff you will never go back :)

Thanks a lot you guys sheesh now I need to make some cinn buns, wonder if I can wait that long.....

Judith, have you tried the watkins double strength clear vanilla? I love it for baking, especially at Christmas time, it doesn't make my candy that's supposed to be white, turn tan. Divinity is divine.....dang it's a long time till Christmas...I might hafta make a batch now to tide me over LOL

I am glad someone brought this up. It gives me a chance to talk about something that gripes my ass.
I went in a store the other morning in Birmingham to buy a cup of coffee. Well they had 15 different flavors of coffee and 10 different flavors of milk to put in it. I was so dang confused I ask the woman working there which one was just regular coffee. We could not find one without a flavor. She recommended the vanilla cream. I told her “If I wanted a milk shake I would go to Dari-Quean” and walked out.
What happened to the good old days when all you had was regular and decaf for coffee and milk of half-and-half for creamer.
Once I got out of town, I stopped and got a cup of regular with nothing in it. It was burnt but still good.

A few weeks back I saw a taste test on TV between Starbucks and McDonalds coffee.

Mickey D's won hands down by a long shot. Bout 1/3 the price too.

I agree alabama, if I wanted a milk shake with a choice of all the flavors...that's what I'd get, but when I want coffee....I want plain old Folgers coffee. Brewed at home, in my own pot.....LOL or Dad's..he makes a mean cup of coffee too.

We have drank Folgers since forever. But now we've had Yuban,
we'd never go back.

(Not that I'm much of a coffee drinker anyway, but Yuban tastes
so clear or something~and Mr. FH sure likes it.)

Baileys at 4:30 in the AM surely makes your day go by nicely!

Lily, I love that stuff, I use it mostly in candies and white cakes. Delicious! If I buy a lemon cake I toss in some of the white vanilla and a titch of the lemon extract. Makes that fake cake taste amazing!

FH, get the original double strength, she's the real deal! Watkins sells a couple different types of double strength and the white for sure is imitation.

Those cinn buns are almost ready, I think this has been the longest day of my life!

Some friends were talkin the other day about icecream. Bluebell has a new flavor.....it's coffee flavor....basically tastes like coffee with cream they say. I will probably try it eventually, but its not somethin thats high on my list of things to do. LOL But who knows, it might be good.

That rather reminds me of an Ace Reid cowboy cartoon. A rancher was in a feed store looking perplexed at all the different concoctions available. He asked the guru proprietor behind the counter, "Do you have any just plain old cow feed?" :???: :?

On the subject of coffee, I just never did like the stuff. About the only coffee I've ever drank was that which was boiled over a campfire in the mountains. It made the air smell so invigorating that it seemed to be worth trying, but even though it smelled so good it still tasted bad like other coffee.

I do try to uphold the image of a rough tough cowboy, so always drink my milk black.

Chocolate milk is pretty good, but something even better is Yoo-hoo chocolate drink. It is hard to find, but quite tasty.
