Burrrrr! Hope you folks was usin' your "winterized" saddles! :D

They have no prestone, but are instead "air-cooled." Today the horns were too froze up to even honk.

I even saw some confused geese. They were flying east.

You always have a new twist to your pictures Soapweed. An active mind takes good pictures. I like the picture with Smokey "giving advice". I have a horse with the same name also.

You Nebraskan's are tough folks. I could climb on and ride now, but it would take the fun out of it. Good luck calving.

That is just way too cold for me. I would love to visit but I will have to wait till spring to travel through cattle country.
I think after my first cutting and I can take a week off I am going to drive through the Montana and the Dakotas.

Soap, thanks for posting, I think I need to get another layer clothes on...

Sure does look cold, I hate pulling a calf when it's cold. There isn't any heat in the barn and even with a lot of straw, the poor lil guys still get some frozen ears. Sure am glad we calve in the fall :)

I was laughing because we have a calf in the bathroom because it got knocked out by the blowing snow and cold temps.. Happy Valentines day honey... Than I got to thinking of last year when we pulled 2 calves, rounded up a couple more and had a baby lamb in the house... Looking back at it, yep, it was this same time period... The barn is great once we get them warmed up but have decided that the house is a lot faster... Of course, we could put them infront of the 125k btu heater in the shed... That would probably cook them before it got them warm.

come on spring.
