College National Saddle Bronc Champ

Local cowboy from here just won the Saddle Bronc riding title at college nationals....Taos Muncy, is from Corona, NM --going to school at Oklahoma Panhandle State --he's also sitting second in the PRCA Saddle Bronc standings....
and darned if he isn't the nicest kid and quite a hand at the ranch. He wrapped about 10 all around titles during his senior year in high school --working four events (calf roping, team roping, saddle bronc and barebacks --he gets on the occasional bull)
But obviously his talent and first loves is the SB's....

His sister just won the NM year end titles in High school barrels, goats, breakaway and was second in the poles. She will go to nationals in all four events. She (Jordan) won the national high school barrel racing title last year and her horse was named Horse of the Year at finals.

They are the most humble nice down to earth ranching family --and they work hard at ALL that they do --and it pays off.

I heard the High School Finals are moving to New Mexico next year so hopefully we'll be heading down that way next summer. Congratulations to your local cowboy sounds like isn't just a hand he's handy.

Yah, someone told me the other day the High School finals will be in Gallup the next two years. Handier than Illinois for most the folk this side of country....it's a beautiful place to rodeo but not much else :)

They were last year too --(the Wrangler Division junior high finals )...it sure fills up that little town in a hurry ---Im still trying to picture it with 1600 HS kids, families and trailers there -- Farmington hosted the HS nationals before but I don't that Gallup ever has. I could be wrong.
