Columbia rescue

I was pondering the rescue of the hostages in Columbia. they talked about the planning for the rescue and what was needed in the planning.

One thing I will say about it is, it sure is a good thing Jimmy Carter didn't plan it.

It was a pretty cool trick they played on them, bet someones head rolled in Columbia

Or was it a trick they played on you? Some are saying the US paid a ransom for the release of the hostages. And at a time when the Republican candidate for president was in-country! Quite a coincidence, huh?

Ingrid Betancourt arrived in France today after being held captive for six years in the Colombian jungle, amid claims that a ransom was paid to free her.

The Colombian government said that she was freed in an audacious operation after the military tricked Farc into handing the French-Colombian politician over without a shot being fired.

But quoting "reliable sources", Swiss Radio reported that a ransom was paid of around $20m (£10m).

ROTFLMAO! I'm a kool aid drinker? Right. Too funny.

These people have been held hostage for years. And now, with the possibly the next President of the US, in country, the Colombian government comes up with a dramatic resuce? Without a shot being fired? That doesn't sound fishy to you? Did to me when I first heard it. Now a Swiss report says ransom was paid. I'll believe about anyone over the Bush Administration. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." The Bush people have lied too many times to take anything they say as fact. But you have another cup of that kool aid.

Difference in me and you is, you read something on any bias sight like the Huffington Post and you automatically believe it as long as it is something anti Republican.

I read something I do not automatically believe the worse, I look at the positive. I also believe in today's day and time of both parties looking to play gotcha with each other. There is no way Bush could send over 20 million dollar ransom with no democrats knowing it! And if McCain had anything to do with it, he would have took credit for some sort of negotiation to gain some political miles, not say his visit had nothing to do with rescue!

A kool aid drinker is someone that blindly follows, that is what you do. You do not care about looking at both sides of the story you follow blindly. Just like you blindly support Clinton, I do not care for Bush one bit, I think he is to liberal and did not live up to the Conservative hopes I had for him. I do not blindly follow, I support his tough stance on fighting terrorism, and taking the fight to our enemies! I do not support his spending and stand on illegal immigration. You see I do not drink the Kool aid I look at each issue individually. You should try it some time!

No the difference is that I'm interested in facts; you're interested in being patted on the head and told how well things are going. They aren't going well.

Jeeze. Your ignorance is amazing. There are billions of dollars in the budget for "black ops" projects that aren't itemized. A $20 million ransom is nothing. Try $2 billion a week in Iraq. That's just pocket change any more, too. I didn't automatically believe the worst until Bush became president and we could no longer believe what he said. How many times will you have to be made a fool of before you start questioning what you see on FOX?

"taking the fight to our enemies." Our "enemies" were in Afghanistan, not Iraq. As far as I can tell, they're still in Afghanistan and gaining strength while we waste our money and blood in Iraq! How can you dare make such a statement! Speaking of drinking Kool Aid.

And what am I blindly following? Not Bush. Not Obama. Not necessarily the Democratic party. There are two political parties in this country: Dems and Republicans. We've seen what those conservative Republicans have done to this country. I won't vote for anyone with an "R" after their name. If the Dems get the White House and Congress, I may be willing to look more at the person behind the tag in 2010, but right now, IMO, we need to get all the Republicans out that we can get out.

If all this 'black ops" money is at the disposal of Bush and McCain as you claim then Why wouldn't they just take what they need and buy the election? Sometimes your reasoning isn't thought out very well.

Oh, does "October surprise" come to mind and the fool the dems made of themselves on that theory

We have enemies in lots of Muslim nations. We did go fight in Afghanistan for Justice. And we went in to Iraq as a offensive attack for preventive maintenance. I support both justice and prevention.

Funny thing is by your past attitude I would not think you would even support us going into Afghanistan. You were perfectly fine with Clinton only catching some of the 93 WTC bombers. You did not complain that Clinton did not go into Iraq to catch Yasin that fled there, or Khalifa who they deported to Jordan to stand a fair trial  or how about Khalid Sheikh Mohammed who Clinton never went after but Bush finally caught you were perfectly happy and praise Clinton for getting some of the attackers.

Well some of the attackers of 911 were brought to justice as they died with the planes, why you worried now about going and catching the remainder ones, you did not worry about that with Clinton??????

Talk about Kool aid drinking to its fullest! You are hooked on the Demonade flavor Kool aid

You have no idea what the Republicans have did to this country, you only have the idea what your Kool aid suppliers tell you. You have no understanding of how economics really work, you do not understand how Reagan's policies affected Clinton's term or how Clinton's term affected Bush's. You are like a child that still drinks milk and has no ability to eat solid foods.

You do not look at how Clinton affected our outsourcing to China, you do not look at Clinton's putting off bills to be paid later under Bush's term. You do not look at Clinton allowing Oil company mergers, but you condemn their size and profit. You do not look at Clinton vetoing drilling for oil we would have now. You do not look at the venue he gave Gore to kill our economy with his Global Warming hoax. You have no idea about the EPA rules and regulations that changed under Clinton that we are paying for now. You have no idea of the damage all the far left Judges that Clinton appointed have done to undermine the Constitution.

You are like a child that can not handle solid foods, maybe that is why you drink Kool aid so much, we all know how much children like their Kool aid!

I am tired of proving things to you, when you see proof you do not ever accept it. You can Google all three of them Muslims names that were involved in the 93 WTC attacks and see what happened to them. Plus they are all common knowledge if you just got your nose out of the Huffington post long enough to learn something.

As for one presidencies policies having an affect on the next president, if you do not understand this trickle down affect there is no way for me to get it through your thick skull. I could explain that to my 10 year old and he would be able to see the logic in it. But then he is not a far left loony and has given up drinking Kool Aid and moved on to solid foods.

You really are showing just how slow you are when it comes to logic, I imagine everyone on here realizes the affects the previous president has on the current one. That goes for Bush, what he has done as president, good or bad will affect the next one. But I guess Clinton was immune to such political logic!

Just keep drinking the Kool Aid, just be sure to drink the sugar free kind, because as hooked as you are on it, you may put on some weight with the Sugary kind!
