Congratulations!!!

Here are the full rankings from the newly released Freedom in the 50 States from the Mercatus Center, showing North Dakota as the state with the most freedom, with South Dakota (#2), Tennessee (#3), New Hampshire (#4), and Oklahoma (#5) also deserving praise for high scores.

I checked the “fiscal” and “tax burden” categories, and South Dakota (no state income tax!) jumped to #1 for both of those measures.

as one of those folk living in the bottom five.. (#48... only losing out to California and New York.) I can wholeheartedly say congratulations..
on keeping your freedoms..

Analysis

Montana has a better reputation for freedom than it really deserves. In fact, the state earns a mediocre score on personal freedom and a low score on regulatory freedom, even as its overall freedom score remains above average due to low taxes.

ouch...

I'll bet the state of Montana came in first in the number of hours per capita spent watching C-Span.

All it takes is one read to tell this group is full of shite- and did little research... They forgot the number 1 tax in the state-- that is used to finance education, police, roads, etc., etc. in all local and county governments-- the property tax...
