CONGRESSIONAL SUPPORT FOR IRAQ WAR GROWS

November, 20 2005--X Files Desk, USA (XP)
---Congressional support for the war in Iraq has grown at a phenomenal pace in just over three short years. In October of 2002, the U.S. House approved authorizing President Bush to "use the armed forces of the United States as he determines to be necessary and appropriate in order to defend the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq." With 296 in favor and only 133 opposed, this vote seemed to give the President a clear mandate to take care of business.

At least, it did seem clear until Friday, November 18, 2005. On that historic day, by a resounding 403 to 3 vote in support of the President, the House said to hell with you wishy-washy liberal Dems that want to tuck tail and run from Iraq as soon as you can pack your make-up and cold cream. Now, it's really clear. The House demands you stay the course, President Bush. The House demands that you take care of business. You have the support of all but .7% of the U.S. House, along with the esteemed Disagreeable, and hand-puppet kolanuraven, of Ranchers.net fame. Point seven percent plus two misplaced wimps is still a statistically meaningless number, however.

LMAO

Why was the Republican leadership in the House afraid to let Murtha's proposal come to vote? Did they fear their own members would jump ship? :D
