Everytime I saw him in the last few years I wondered what he was smoking- or if he an Boehner were off in the same corners sharing a bottle of grapejuice.... He seemed extremely intelligent but said some off the wall things to make a point.... But I did some research and found several places that talked of his history of a highly thought of 25 years of law practice- and his years as a Federal Magistrate...

Then I found this:

In December 2009, Johnson revealed that he had been battling Hepatitis C (HCV) for over a decade, which resulted in slow speech and a tendency to regularly get "lost in thought in the middle of a discussion". Johnson said that he learned he had the disease in 1998 but did not know how he contracted it. HCV-induced liver dysfunction often leads to Hepatic encephalopathy, a cause of confusion. Symptoms are often reversible with treatment. The disease damaged his liver and led to thyroid problems. He was treated with a combination of ribavirin and interferon at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. In February 2010, Johnson successfully completed an experimental treatment for Hepatitis C, which resulted in restored mental acuity, weight gain and increased energy.

Apparently to his home folks and folks that know him (and knew of his disease problems) the Quam statement didn't surprise them...

Johnson's office later said Johnson "is simply a tremendous deadpan" and that he was using a facetious metaphor. The video of Johnson's comments became an internet sensation in the week prior to the 2010 elections, which he went on to win.

"Tremendous deadpan" must be lib code speak for semi-retarded. He wouldn't be the first federal magistrate that was dumber than a sack of hammers. Potential poster boy for affirmative action.

OT, where's Quam?

I think it's off over behind one of those 57 states his boy visited.
Or maybe next to Quatemala or Quyana?

Or maybe close to the River Quai. :)

I get a kick out of watching this group of school yarders at work--- You get caught making fun of a sick mans disability- and then your answer is to attack me because I mistyped a word...

Is that how you type folks rationalize your guilt feelings for saying stupid things :???:

I expect that of most these right winger Tea Party holier than thous that put themselves so far above everyone else- and don't believe any should ever lower themselves to have any illness's or infirmities --- BUT it is shocking of Soap, who should have learned even the biggest can fall from even a small bug-- and just like I did from arthritis, end up being semi crippled and only able to walk with a cane....

And you people wonder why I question the Tea Party types.... :(

Most leftwingernuts question the Tea Party because their IQ is smaller than their belt size. That even gives a few a lot of leeway.

Hepatitis C, but didn't know how he contracted it....hmmm. And in 1998 no less? That doesn't strike anyone as odd? It did me.

The primary route of transmission in the developed world is intravenous drug use (IDU), while in the developing world the main methods are blood transfusions and unsafe medical procedures. The cause of transmission remains unknown in 20% of cases; however, many of these are believed to be accounted for by IDU.

The United States instituted universal screening in 1992 and Canada instituted universal screening in 1990. This decreased the risk from one in 200 units to between one in 10,000 to one in 10,000,000 per unit of blood.

I'm thinking I know why he didn't recall how he got it.

You may be right- a very intelligent man-- but if he's the spokesman/leader of the Republican/conservatives today- that party is in deep doo-doo as he's about as exciting watching/listening to as watching paint dry... Instead of stirring the mass's, most are wondering if he is awake... :p

And you're right- he is one of the original true neocons- which seems to be exactly what the ********* factions are trying to separate and distance themselves from- which is causing a split party again :???: ...

Krauthammer is Paralyzed, maybe that's why he appears like he isn't moving... (watching paint dry)

are you really that insensitive to others?

first you attack a rape victim, now a paralyzed man?

Steve- I was not aware Krauthammer was partially paralyzed-- but still stand by what I said about him being a poor spokesman/leader of the Republican/conservatives.... He is very intelligent- but really does little to inspire.....And to me he is what the country rebelled against in both the 06 and 08 elections- the neocon movement- which he is thought of as one of the founders....

As far as your rape comment-- so now Gore in your view is guilty until proven innocent :???: .... Trial by National Enquirer :???:

I can't stand Al Gore but I've just seen too much to immediately buy anyones story- victim or alledged perpetrator on sexual assault cases...

One thing I forgot in my post about investigating sexual assault crimes-- women often make the best investigators...Not only can they usually communicate better with a woman victim- but they also don't have the chivalrous attitude some male investigators have and are more suspicious of women victims- and often can see thru holes in their stories that a man can't... And from what I've seen, women jurors are often much more tough on womens victims than men are- especially with "He said-She said" cases ....

Krauthammer is paralyzed from the neck down and the dullard calls him partially paralyzed. What more would you have paralyzed on the man OT, his lips?

So saying a person is not inspiring or what a party leader needs to be is attacking them ? You consider that an attack because of their infirmity :???:

I had to give old Krauthammer an ATTA-BOY on Friday...
He ripped into that split party that creates dysfunction quite correctly ...

Krauthammer: GOP ‘ridiculous’

By LUCY MCCALMONT | 8/1/14 10:48 AM EDT Updated: 8/1/14 12:53 PM EDT

Charles Krauthammer is slamming the GOP for what he called a “ridiculous” contradiction after tabling legislation to tackle the border crisis within 24 hours after moving forward with a lawsuit against the president.

“It is ridiculous to sue the president on a Wednesday because he oversteps the law, as he has done a dozen times illegally and unconstitutionally, and then on a Thursday say that he should overstep the law, contradict the law that passed in 2008 and deal with this [the border] himself,” Krauthammer said Thursday on Fox News’ “Special Report.”
