The wind, I'm meaning. 10 days straight with strong winds, last 6 days have been from the east or southeast. It is damn near driving people crazy around here! We desperately need rain, clouds come up, but the wind just blows them away. The grass is turning brown in the pastures, hay crop is only 3-4 inches tall and turning yellow, fields are drying out and crops aren't germinating. It's looking like it's shaping up to be a very bad year.

Very sorry to hear that, Shelly. I hope the weather turns on a dime for you like it often does. I've never lived where there was almost constant wind like that. It must seem very strange and nerve racking.

It is windy everywhere in the Plains clear to California.

Our banker from W. Mt. took a man to Sacramento, CA to pick up a plane.
It only took 4 hours to fly there. The plane the fellow bought was
a very small, light plane (750 lbs.) and they only made it part way
home the first day. He said he could have driven a car faster than they
could fly that plane, because of the wind.

Everyone is saying they have never seen the wind blow this hard this long.
Hopefully you will get some moisture, Shelley.

Shelly-- there is an end in sight...As this low pressure system moved out- the wind stopped last night- and it was such a change not to hear the wind howl all night, I kept waking up and couldn't sleep

No wind this morning- still getting some little showers (up to 1.1 inchs now over the past 5 days)- but from the radar it looks like its about done here....

I thought this front was moving north- and taking moisture north with it....

Well, it seems like maybe the wind has slowed up some, but still no rain to speak of. We got a bit of a teaser Saturday night with a few showers, but it barely settled the dust. :(

I lied Big Muddy- or the weather boys did anyway....More rain came thru out the day and we ended up with 95/100ths at the north place (for the entire week).... :) Looks like it is done today- and I even saw the sun peek thru for a few minutes this morning......
