WASHINGTON —(USDA)— Imported meat and poultry passed for entry into the United States the week ending July 22 totaled 30,115 metric tons, 15 percent less than the same week last year. The following figures are in metric tons.

New Zealand led in fresh beef imports at 6501, followed by Australia at 5910, Canada at 4008, Brazil 1614, Uruguay 1335, Nicaragua 413, Mexico 350, and Costa Rica 57. Processed beef totaled 2010 with Brazil at 1614, Canada 165, Argentina 94, New Zealand 57, Uruguay 50, Mexico 18, and Australia 14.

Fresh pork imports were 5448, with Canada 4693, Denmark 598, Mexico 43, the Netherlands 27, Ireland 24, Northern Ireland 23, the United Kingdom 23, and Sweden 18. Processed pork totaled 1494 with Canada 1002, Poland 215, Mexico 92, Denmark 80, Italy 62, Hungary 20, the Netherlands 13, and Spain 12.

Lamb amounted to 898 split between Australia at 573 and New Zealand at 325. Australia was the sole provider of mutton at 30. Goat imports totaled 90 with Australia 87 and New Zealand three. Miscellaneous-combination supplies totaled 223, with Canada 192 and Mexico 31.
