My aunt came home last night and found my uncle had passed away sitting in his chair,he was having a dish of ice cream which was still on his lap,he was in fine health,he has been hauling cattle locally for the last 50 years,he made his final run yesterday, oct 10 was his 75th birthday, his wife had a dance and party for him, that was one of his pastimes,i think he put more miles on going to dances then trucking, he will be missed

My condolences as well. 75 good years working until the end. Too bad he didn't hang on a few more minutes to enjoy that ice cream. Sounds like a life well lived.

cowwrangler, you and your family have our prayers and condolences. On the brighter side, what a grand exit your uncle had. He lived a long and bountiful life, probably had his affairs in order, and still managed to die with his boots on. Probably this is just the way he would have chosen to go if he could.

We'll be thinkin' of ya and your family. Please take comfort in the fact that he was home and went quickly rather than suffering with lots of troubles.
