Court Blocks Okla. Amendment on Islamic Law

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A federal judge has issued a temporary restraining order blocking a state constitutional amendment that prohibits state courts from considering international or Islamic law when deciding cases.

U.S. District Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange ruled Monday morning in Oklahoma City following a brief hearing. It prevents the state election board from certifying the results of Tuesday's general election in which the amendment was approved by 70 percent of the voters.

The order will remain in effect until a Nov. 22 hearing on a requested preliminary injunction.

It was issued in a lawsuit filed by the executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Oklahoma. Muneer Awad said during the hearing that the law stigmatizes his religion.

This kinda mamby-pamby politically correct bullshit really pisses me off. If these people don't want to follow our constitution then let's take up a collection and buy them bus ticket back to where they came from.Over there where the women have no rights and stoning is still an acceptable form of punishment. Keep in mind, they CHOSE to come here. And yes, I meant a bus ticket. Its no different than the mexicans wanting to celebrate their mexican holidays over here. I can't understand why all these people want to come over here because of all of the opportunties America has to offer and then they want to make it just like where they came from. Oh wait, maybe its because of all of the welfare and government handouts. I have a real simple solution for these whiiney assed foriegners. IF YOU DON'T LIKE OUR LAWS OR CULTURE, LEAVE ! ! !

I'm thinking of moving to the US and living by Somalian law when I get there. You're all okay with that, aren't you?

You're probably racist, if you don't agree, that I have the right to do so.

What gets me is people live in he77 holes and so they move here cause they like it. But the first thing they try to do is make it here like it was where they come from.

The same can be said about libs moving to conservative states

Two major victories against child prostitution today: Twenty-nine people have been indicted in a sex trafficking ring in which Somali gangs in Minneapolis allegedly forced girls under age 14 into prostitution in at least three states, according to an indictment unsealed today.

seven Minneapolis-area Somali men killed over a 10-month period, and authorities believe all were killed by fellow Somalis. Police say it's too simple to tie all the killings to Somali gangs, which have lured hundreds of young community members to their ranks in recent years.

Despite anger and despair over the killings in Minnesota's Somali community — the nation's largest — police and prosecutors have struggled to catch and try the killers. Few witnesses have stepped forward because of a fear of reprisal and deep-rooted distrust of authority. More than half of Minnesota's Somalis are living in poverty, according to state statistics, and many complain that authorities are biased against Somalis because of their Islamic faith.

Somali gangs elsewhere growing
Elsewhere in the U.S. and Canada, police and community officials have reported an increase in Somali gang activity.

In and around Edmonton, Alberta, six young Somali men have been slain in the last six months.

Police in Columbus, Ohio, which has the second-largest U.S. population of Somalis, have also seen growing evidence of Somali gangs,
