Here's some pics I took today. It was a nice day but windy. You western folks can keep that wind. I hate it.

these first four cows are all from the same sire. I wish I had him back. He left me some functional females. All of these have wintered on grass.

Here's a purebred RA out of a King Rob son that I bought from Bent Tree several years back.

cows look great to have wintered on grass

These are fescue fields I combine seed off of then cut the hay. I then fall fertilize and graze them through the winter. These cows also have stockpiled fescue in an adjoining field that is boot top high and bedded over. It's a nice place for them to lay and calve and such but they prefer to graze this tender new growth in these seed fields. Time to get them off so I can raise another seed crop though. Yes, it's greening up here some.

Nice stock, Red Robin. They sure did winter good - and your grass is still looking good, too. Are you saying that your only supplement costs are the costs of your Fall fertilizer?

Texan I don't know whether to charge the fall fertilizer against the cows or the seed side of my little deal. I have to fall fertilize to make the fescue tiller more. Anyway, I havn't gave the cows anything more than grass. Thanks for the compliments.

Ranchy would you happen to a rodeo announcer from Harrison named Cash?
Billy Don Cash? I think that's his name. I don't know him personally but I know of him and we have some mutual friends. You know him?
