i overheard my dad braggin about me one day to one of his friends. it really hit my heart. my dad was never one to tell me congratulations or commend me on anything. not because he wasnt proud, but because we both knew there was always room for improvement. during high school, my dad dedicated his life to me for rodeo. he always had our practice pen ready, horses stalled for me to saddle ( he wouldnt saddle my horses out of superstition). He made sure i was always mounted on a good horse, got me a rig to go to the rodeos and only missed one of my rodeos in 4 years. i lost my dad 4 years ago to cancer and theres not a day that goes by that i dont thank him for everything he did for me. im 23 now and people always tell me how i take exactly after my dad, and to hear that makes me know that somewhere in that time he was with me, he molded me into the man i am today.
so cowhunter, brag all you want on your son. even though he may not say it, i can tell you that he respects you and thanks you for everything youve done for him. you never know, he may turn out to be just like you one day.
