Don Wudel is from our area.....we had a great time, started with Roast Beef supper, then entertainment.Ben Crane does the Leanin Tree cards, the funny ones about cattle ranching and hes an awesome musician, you all get a chance to see these guys,go,it was well worth it!! Don Wudels going to Washinton DC,theres an Alberta thing going on at the Smithsonian!Hes showing roping, braiding and doing Cowboy poetry,he did a poem called Friends, its about meeting new people, made me think of ranchers.net.

Love "Friends"!!!!!!!!!!!! It does remind me of here, too!

I've never heard of any of those guys, but guess we have our own set of cowboy poets/storytellers/musicians. It's really a good, wholesome way to have some family fun! Glad you enjoyed yourself!

I got to visit with Dn at Elko in 97, quite a bit. He kept saying, "I don't know why you Yanks like Iyn Tyson so well, You know he ain't a cowboy."

I told him that Iyn sang what we thought. And that we all knew he wasn't a cowboy. But he just thought it wasn't right. "He ain't a cowboy, you know." He kept saying that over and over. :D

I like Don. :)

I first met Don at college over 30 years ago. I don't think he was anymore then a wannabe back then. If memory serves me correct he grew up in Calgary and spent time with Cinch Arthur at a church camp between Olds and Sundre. He has sure embraced the cowboy way of life and done some cowboying since then, Not all of us are lucky enough to grow up living thiis life.
