What picture, Old Timer? :???: I wanna see, Alabama..................

If you can find it OT. post it for Ranchy. I will not make it to the office for a few days. I have several road trips this week.
I started calving yesterday with a new day calf from a 6I6 cow. No time for a weight as I am traveling the day job in the daylight this week and cutting what hay the armyworms left at night. I hope to get it rolled this weekend. I need to put a cell phone on the heifers so they can call if they got trouble. You go to love it. 8)

Thank you, To all that post on this net for your support with all the good things you posted I think I am getting the big head. But the truth be told, I am just a South Alabama red neck farmer/ rancher/ engineer, with a very dry since of humor.

To the blond girls: A grown woman is the most precious thing God gave the rancher. We could not do this without them. The best women in the world are ranchers and those that can love a rancher.
I a very sorry that I offended you and did not mean to hurt your feelings or insult you. I assumed you were a very busy woman and did not want to beat around the bush so I laid it out. I wish you the best and I am sure that you will find what you want and need.

PS. I ain't never letting a woman get papers on me again.

2BC,

My intention was not to scare/run you off but to share the truth, most of us are ranch women who love our rancher men and our way of life (thanks, Shelly).

BTW, welcome aboard, we get some pretty interesting conversations around here (esp in Political and Bull Sessions-I'd stay away from there for awhile unless you realllllllly like to argue!) :cowboy:

Alabama, you have always been nice to me and very considerate. I would never worry what anyone thinks. Heck, I am one that has had to learn that people on the net dont matter anymore. If they want to believe what you are then they will and if they want to fantasize what you are they will.

Straight forward honesty is not dry...it is the best way to be! and you have always made us laugh with some of your stories.

Dont work to hard....and hope that all things are better in your world.

Up here, the ones with the time and money to go team penning, sorting, and generally recreating with horses are not the ranchers, but the accountants, lawyers, oilmen, car dealership owners, and other professional people who have that mysterious thing - excess money to play with! That would be a better place to start looking, I'm thinking. Not much play time on a ranch, so you have to love what you are doing, cause you get to do it every day. Around here the annual holiday is the couple of days when we go to the mountains (not a long trip from here) to gather yearlings. Only thing that makes it one bit different from any other day is the other people camped there for the same purpose, and the socializing that goes with.

Alabama,
It is clear why you are still single at age 47. No gentleman (cowboy or other) would ever be that disrespectful to a lady. Nuf said. Your momma would slap you right about now for your manners.

I have to post something else im sorry but what you guys said is all so true if she isnt use to ranch life and being away from people and doing all those extra things she wont enjoy a rancher or a farmer for that fact you have to love the great outdoors and all that god has put in front of us cause theres nothing more challanging and rewarding then ranching ...If she has been married I would take my time getting married again I would enjoy your daughter while you can, you have the greatest gift you can have and dont need a guy to come between you and your daughter itll be the hardest thing you can do to her not just mentally but physically. Right now your daughter is at the age where your building her foundation she needs your support and love more then a guy does.....And also if you were married a long time and recently divorced you may fall into the same kinda relationship ...They told me it takes a yr for every yr you were married to be totally healed from the past.......

Sure is a lot of real good advice on here.

If anyone thought she was run off, she just ain't got enough grit to be hangin' out with a bunch of us crusty, narrow minded, red necked, no account, never got an edjication, country hicks!

And if you ain't got any better sense of humor than it appears, you sure as heck better stay away from any REAL cowboys and ranchers!

We can't afford to go much of any place, so we take our fun where we find it, and we all have a good sense of humor, else we wouldn't be in the cow biz!
