I was lookin at collars today and figered I'd wait till it got in. The saddle is riged with collor rings so u don't go to your D rings. I'm glad I waited. I have several old ones but wonted everything to kindy match. I'll be up at the tack store there in the mornin it get one. Yall that stud is nice. He liked the cowwork. He sure feals like ur ridein a man to. As for the bit. I never seen one like it either so I pay the lady for it when I got the stud. Its kindly a shanked snapple. He's throws his head some and acts a little spoilt but sure is willin. Got a gate that will flat get u some where with out a sore tail. I'm goin to let him cover my 4 cracker mares ans well as my 2 Quorter mares in april. It will give us somethin to play with. Thank for puttin up the pics bmr.

Nice pics, Cowhunter. Is that a hill I see beyond the pens beyond you and you mount?
I had a Buddy in the Nav that was from Chiefland. Is that very far away?

Yea, cheifland's in our county. My wifes home town. Small world. That pasture is what's called sandhill country. Poor dirt but if the wire grass is burnt off in the spring, it comes out real good and cattle will thrive on it. What was ur buddys name. I'm sure we know or know of his family. This cold weather sure gives me a lot of respect for u northern ranchers. Yall are eather real tuff or ignorant or both. Lol! Just kiddin.

Ur rite. Shaved heads r cool. A specialy in cold weather. We got a highschool rodeo in williston this weekend and me and my little girl went to the practice cuttin. We will all go tomorrow night. I might take a electric blanket and a little honda generater. Lol. Found a fresh bull calf today. He was still wet. His mammy got a lot of long horn in her. He might be a canadate for a herd bull that will through horns a little quicker. If only some of u genetics experts would give me a answer on breedin him to his half sisters. His sire, a reg. Cracker had good feet and good horn. I just don't know about the line breedin. I got 2 more long horn cows. If I get another bull calf and they turn out, I'll use them in 2 years. If I'm still around.

If horns are what you are after and this particular family has the better horns you desire go ahead and breed a bull to his half sister - you have a better chance of fixing the type of horns you want like this than breeding them to unrelated stock.

Thank u. Both mama and sire were roped as yearlins. Ran strate and held up well. I hope that runs in the blood to. I just get a little worryed hear yall talk about feet. It would a bad deal to have a bunch of ropein steers, bred just so to start havein feet problems. Just tryin to get about 6 in, already cut square, and 300 lbs. 8 to 12 grooped like that can fetch a good price. And if u got them pen broke, even more.
