2 year old heifer and her youngin' (cool pattern in numbers, eh? )

We moved some of our bulls from one pasture to another across the road. These are from that little activity

OK- I thought I was confusing in my tagging-- use 3 different brands on cows and tags - but keep them all 2 number (easier for old eyes)-- but at least I put mommas number on the calf ( usually unless I screw up  ) That would have me digging thru paperwork like crazy when mothering up for different pastures....

Love the name Macaroani!!!!!!!!!!!! My dad gave Al a roan heifer (we suspected the neighbor's shorthorn bull had something to do with her coloring  ) and he named her Macaroani, too! Somewhere, I have some pics of her, she was a pretty heifer, but finally sold her as a 5 year old, she'd had one calf (that year) and let it die......just don't need to keep cows like that around, no matter how perdy they are..... :(

Love your mama and baby.........what a cute shot!
