His controversial methods have drawn criticism from thousands of people although members of his congregation swear by his methods - he is said to have claimed that humans can eat anything to feed their bodies and survive on whatever they choose to eat.

'Yes, we eat grass and we're proud of it because it demonstrates that, with God's power, we can do anything,' Rosemary Phetha told South Africa's Times Live.

The 21-year-old law student says she had been battling a sore throat for more than a year, but it was healed after she ate the grass.

Doreen Kgatle, 27, of Ga-rankuwa, suffered a stroke two years ago.

'I could not walk but soon after eating the grass, as the pastor had ordered, I started gaining strength and an hour later I could walk again,' said Kgatle.

often cults use blind obedience to god, and then abuse that obedience for selfish needs..

I read a bit of their Facebook page and didn't see the rationale for his sermons on grass eating.. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rabboni-Centre-Ministries/132536290098416

but it appears he is trying to get them to understand fasting and how it nurtures your spirit..

more on him.. from his view... he seems to think of himself as a profit without saying he claiming a profit,.. (a cult)

I also found several pages with that are fake.. and focused on the healing and grass eating.. sort of a caricature of him.

having talked to missionaries that have spent significant time in Africa. his "church style cult" is not entirely uncommon..

because of the nature of the fake sites,. it was hard to see what is true and what is a hoax... but from what l looked at.. his church is certainly not mainline.. but then few African churches are.. from speaking in tongues to passing out is not uncommon..

our Bible has many stories of strange healing.. from a simple task of obedience,. washing seven times in the Jordon. ,.. to a man told to rub mud and spit into his eyes..

I don't condone his preaching or style.. but if he is honestly leading people from evil and towards Christ then I won't mock him.. but like most unorthodox preachers it is often only a matter of time before they become very dangerous and corrupt.

Many of the African cults mix traditional animist beliefs with Christian teaching, one large group, the Zionist Christian Church, mix Christian teaching, animism, including trance induction to connect with ancestral spirits and some kosher type regulations.

That way they're covered.

I once had a sore throat...the doc gave me a placebo. The medication healed me.

placebo's can get expensive.. especially the brand name ones..

you should have just ate some snow ,.. Rev Al says it will soon be gone.. but for now it is plentiful and cheap..

Rev Al was kinda correct. We had a Chinook blow through yesterday afternoon, this morning. Got rid of a bit of snow...but we've had twice the average this year, so it will take a little longer to get rid of this Global Warming produced rain.

"global warming will produce more moisture, that's why there is more snow"

Their common sense astounds me...
