I've always wondered if those evergreen trees cause troubles with aborted calves like they do down here in the US. I've noticed a lot of the pictures from Canada show cows in the spruce or pine or whatever those trees are.

Well, it sure isn't a big problem in this area, the only place you find pines is around a yard site, and at the size of those ones, it is a real old yardsite. We're kinda treeless down here  . Might be a bigger problem in areas like the Cypress Hills, or Northern Sask.

Pine needles will abort cows, never heard or had any problem with spruce.
Our pine needle problems usually occur when we try to get that last day of rustling out. Haven't had one in two years now.

I sleuthed out your website last night-some very good herdbulls I think. The Hallonquist rodeo is one we haven't hit yet but I sure like to go to it sometime-my buddy Warren Allin says it's a good deal. Can you pm the bulls you have for sale at home or email it [email protected] The pines we have up here don't cause abortions as far as I know-I've never heard of a slip because of them. Did you name yourself after that old bull you ran years ago.

I looked at your website too and those are some of the deepest, thickest shorthorns I've seen in a long time. Kind of like the old time shorthorns were before the giraffe craze. Have you send genetics to Scotland in the last 10 years? if not I think I know someone over there who may be interested.

GF , no we haven't sold anything to Scotland. I understand most of the guys over there like big cattle, with a shot of Maine in them that look like Limos.
