its true, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. I had a little bunch that found a hole in the fence from a tree limb fallin in this bad wind. We found them and drove them 2 miles home. Pened them then caught the rest and pulled 7 ropein heifers I got rented. My never tirein pic poster we get them up soon I'm sure.

Thanks haymaker. And ur right. My pic poster is always on the ball. Thanks big muddy. If u ever get tired of it, some body might give u some releaf. That blaised faced horse, sideways in the first pic is my daughters new horse. My buddys goin to ride her for a few weeks just to make sure she don't have no secrets. Most of my friends r youngins. Lol. That old stud out walked all them quarter horses with ease. All was well till he meet my cracker mares, runnin loose up there. then the stud horse came out in him. I keep him under control but it wore me out. I got to get a twisted wire snapple in his mouth. He's a little tuff mouthed. He sure will watch a cow. He diferent. Got that old timey old world look about him. Gradys goin to get a handle on him for me. He don't bugger bad. A dog run by him a scared him a little. But I showed him the next one and he was fine after that. Puttin him with my mares the middle of next month.

Just checked the map, you're way up there, I have worked in South Florida, have family down there as well. They live in Homestead, farm about 1000 acres of Sweet Corn and Tomatoes, I lived in Jupiter for a winter scouting crops in Belle Glade. There are very few cows South of Lake Okeechobee, I drove up to the town of Okeechobee one day, no shortage of cattle there.

Don't tell king ranch there r very few cows south of the big lake. Or aleco either. Lots of cane and corn like u said but there's plenty of cattle the indians have a big herd there as well. They use to grow a lot of sod down there but sence the economy's gone bad there grazein cattle on it. I use to sell a truck load of sod pallets a day down there till it dryed up. But ur kinda right. Most cattle are not south of the lake compared to the east, west and north. How u like that flat land down there? Real black dirt. Muck they call it.

Looking at a map, I guess I didn't really go West of Rt 27. I did some sweet corn scouting on some of King Ranch's land, I guess they just don't have cattle that far East. I helped a snake out of the road on their land, didn't know what it was, looked it up later and it was a good one, Florida King Snake, they eat venimous snakes.

I never thought about the fact that it was a King Snake on King Ranch.

Glades Crop Care was my employer by the way, their main office is in Jupiter.

King ranch has a lot of land down there. There sod operateion was big they had about 25 harvesters goin. Trucks lined up a mile waitin to get loaded. Them king snakes r the deal. I seen one kill and eat a rattler one time. They get really big to. Where do u live now?

I'm back where I grew up, Maine. I'm fairly close to Portland.

I drove up to that snake, peaked out the window, then got out and picked him up with a piece of sugar cane, brought to what we call a hedge row.

When I was down there, it was the first time I saw the King Ranch series Fords. I didn't know it was a series, I thought some of the King Ranch people had their logo on there.

I got a king ranch f 150. The leather's thick and nice. My brother was at the store in texas, I think kingsville? He looked around at some saddle bags till he saw the price tag then went to the belts. They started at 200 dollars. He finely bought a book and got out of there. Lol. There's some old country yankees from maine that live around here. One's a good friend. He loves to hear me talk as much as I do him.
