Credit card mess

Well, it seems that those that have HUGE credit card debts and can't or won't make the min. payments are gonna get a HUGE break on those fees.

BUT....BUT...it seems that folks like me and many others who #1 DO NOT have a credit card debt and #2 pay what little we might have placed there off every month....we're gonna get hit.

Many annual fees will return, interest will start the instant you purchase something.

Yes I did vote for him.

But that doesn't mean that I'm like many of you, Rep/Consv's ,who go in lock step with your party/leader.

This is something that I don't like and I think there's got to be a better way to deal with it.

I also don't think Gitmo should be closed either...so there!

You should try missing a payment or being late once. Very good incentive to pay on time and not wait for the Government to bail you out. So this time because of incompetent government bail out you never reaped any rewards. Oh well that is the way of a Liberal Government. Ignore the responsible and reward the irresponsible.

so far I closed one card account... sears master card... it wanted a rate increase and an annual fee... they backed off the annual fee on phone, and said they increase could be delayed,..

read the fine print and close unused accounts when they raise rates.. the banks will get the hint...

as for the annual fees,.. I'll turn back to cash and my debit/credit card before I'll ever pay one of them again... Just another tax on the responsible person..

Sears must be revamping in both country's because greg just cut up our card for the same reason. Although we always pay our sears card right away greg figured 28% was crazy!!

It does tick a person off when the ones whose credit is bad are the ones that gets the breaks... :?

In a way I'm all for it. I have no debt but I certainly don't think these people who have irresponsibly run up these huge balances and won't even make minimum payments should get a free ride. The president has basically taken away the tools that have always kept credit card companies in business....whether anyone ever bothered to read the fine print it not their problem.

I have no debt either....NO DEBT of any kind, at all.

No mortgage, no car/truck pmts/no land payments...nothing!

So that being the case I'll put $50 on a card every now and then just to show activity on the cards.

I don't even use an ATM or Debit card....

I just cringe when I see people that I know regularly using a credit card to buy groceries..

Bear with me for a bit.

But sitting here in Canada and watching this all unfold from here, the credit card thing is just another example of something bigger going on.

It amazes me to watch some people be all for upholding the morals and values that have made the US great, but in the next instance go against everything that in the past made the US great.

I guess what I'm saying is that I see management saying one thing and travelling down a totally different path.

It's kind of sad to see so many people fooled by rhetoric, and not notice reality, and the direction it is taking them.

This is why I do not even have a Credit card, a Debit card will do every thing a credit card will and you have no charges nor debt.

I even been thinking about looking into an account with ???? (forgot their name) that will repay you any ATM fees that you get from other banks when you use it there. It is one of them Stock Broker places like Fidelity, Charles Schwab etc......

Originally I was going to post an article in support of Obama because I thought regulating the Credit card companies so they could not raise rates just because you were late once was a good idea. But after looking closer to the ramifications i saw his bill was all smoke and would punish those that do not mess up!

It is not re-distributing the wealth, it is re-distributing poverty.
No matter how much you give the poor, they will always be poor.
The wealthy however, will be poorer for it, but will manage to get by.

I just cringe when I see people that I know regularly using a credit card to buy groceries..
I use my debit card but tell them to run it as credit for a couple reasons.
I dont want my pin to be seen. It is also safer.
I get a refund for any debit fees.
I get "reward points" OK they are not the best but any is better than none.

As to the CC mess for those who are debt free trust me you wont be for long. Look at where this is going........Taking from those who have to take care of the ones who have nothing and feel they dont have to pay their bills.

What's wrong with just paying cash?

Don't use a Debit Card if you want to have any recourse about a purchase you made. At least if you're sold a wooden nickel and you pay with a check you can stop payment on the check.

Not so with a debit card. You're stuck with what you've bought.

That's probably the thing that gets my attention most. I realize some folks have to use credit cards and hopefully pay in full each month, but when you see them using the cards at the grocery store it makes you wonder how long before the max it out. So many now could care less about the value of anything or the cost of it...only "what is the payment". Maybe I'm hard harded but I have no sympathy for them. They applied for the card, the agreed to the terms of the card..comply or pay the price. Just good business on the part of the bank.

The only time I might put something ' big' ( over $100) on a credit card is if I think there's a chance I might have to or want to return the item.

Other than that....I just pay cash and roll on!

Because I dont want to keep alot of cash around.
How many undocumented immigrants do you have working around you? Me I have ALOT.
It comes right out of my checking account so its the same thing. If you use the Credit option you do have recourse same as if your using a CC.
I am NOT using credit I am using my cash in my account.
