Crop failure or Busted?

A couple of days ago somebody lost a big chunk of valuable crop in our neighborhood.

There was a chopper flying in a relatively tight circle two farms down the road from us for almost an hour. About the same time it showed up a caravan of vehicles including to marked police trucks, cars went by.

So when the chopper left, wifey and I jumped into the van and toured over to take a look.

There were six Ontario Provincial Police carrying on their shoulders big bundles of pot out of the cornfield beside the road. They did not look happy since the corn is 10' tall and it was HOT.

Their haul? TWO pickup loads of pot plants, piled as high as the roof of the trucks and side to side full!

I had to think of Judith who said the cops would pile it up and burn it when they made a bust. I accused her of standing down wind of the fire hoping to catch a bit of the smoke . . .

I wonder what became of Judith? She was a lot of fun on this board.

About five years ago there was a group who thought they could run their grow ops in the country without anyone noticing. Ya right! You can hide easier in the city than you can out here where everyone knows their neighbour's business. They set up close to a half dozen operations all over the province.

Of course no one's going to notice when a couple of non English speaking Asian men move buy a farm, put a locked gate at the end of the lane, buy some German Shepherds, and then go to the neighbour's and pay cash for a tractor. Real cash, in paper money, not a cheque. No receipt please. 8) 8) Duhhhh......... And never bothered to look up and see all the small planes that are always in the air.

The Mounties watched and waited until the crops were almost ready for harvest, then in they went.

Same result as burnt's in burnt's neighbourhood. 8)
