Cummins question

Big Muddy rancher

My 95 starts when I manually lift the fuel shut off when the key is on and it starts and runs. I shut it off and have to lift solenoid again. When the key is on I have power to green wire. Should there be power to more wires. Wondering if it is the fuel solenoid or a relay or possible wire problem?

Thanks

From what I've heard, I don't think you'd have that problem on a Suburban.

But maybe you're not a GM guy...

Don't know what i would do without friends like you guys. :D

Oh ya I fixed it myself. :p

Did a little reading and found that usually it is not the solenoid but either the relay or the "Blue" wire.
Got looking around and found the "Blue" wire everybody was talking about. It comes right off the battery post and I had put a new eye terminal on it but when i wiggled it out it came with a bit of green corrosion. I put under the bolt of the battery post and the truck started. :D

Carquest wanted $700 for the new solenoid but I did find this site with some great deals on parts. http://www.fostertruck.com/tools.html

I do have a GM with a 6.2 but it never ran in the winter.

Not to change the subject, but drove a 2014 Dodge (or I mean Ram  ) 2500HD today. The rear springs are now coil, instead of leaf. Seems like it didn't ride as stiff as the previous years.

I heard Dodge dealers are having a promotional deal where they are giving away a free puppy with every new truck sold.

So you won't have to walk home alone! :p

I traded from the 6.4 to the 6.7 powerstroke... I was very impressed, and the new truck comes with air bags on the rear end to pump in more suspension for heavy loads....

I found and did this cab filter mod. Works well and keeps alot of dirt out of the heating/AC system. Works on 09 thru 14 Dodges.
