It is not the bowing to the Saudi king or the snubbing of leaser to our long standing allies.

It is not his terrible record on gun control votes including wanting to send a man to prison for self defense in Illinois and his arguments on Keller vs DC.

It is not the huge vacuum of investors bailing out of the stock market from lack of confidence in he and his cronies.

It is not the threat of spreading the wealth which essentially means robbing the successful to give to the lazy or losers or those down on their luck.

It is not the threat of health care for those of us who have health care and are satisfied with it.

It is not the racial unrest he has created across the nation with his threats to the police and law enforcement agencies across the nation.

It is not all the carefully crafted weasel words.

It is not the hocking of our children's future financially.

It is not the forthcoming double digit inflation.

What the issue is are accumulative affects of all of the above and more that has happened.

Stop and listen to your peers in the work place. Try to find something positive. It isn't there. Listen to the media who is so liberal you have to wonder if they have Obama tatoos. Listen close and find some positive things you can feel good about.

Each day it gets worse. The polls show it. Your peers' faces show it.

Read the foreign press and realize how silly American looks at the moment. It seems we are to helpless to wipe our own backsides.

All of your "it's not"...those are legitimate...and I may not agree with all of them, but I do with most! And, it's the MOST that needs to be addressed without interference from the birthers!

What is not legitimate and what makes us look silly right now is this birther crap!

What makes Obama look silly/deceitful/untrustworthy is not presenting a simple BC, among the other issues.

Is it legitimate or not, SCOTUS says it is?

In Minor v. Happersett, decided in 1874, 6 years after the adoption of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, the Supreme Court expressly recognized that legitimate doubts (unanswered questions) concerning a dual citizen being able to be a “Natural Born Citizen”

The State of Nebraska requires a BC or a certified copy of one to obtain a valid driver's license. My oldest got her license last January. Middle gets her learner's permit in September. No complaints about it from me or them.

I fail to see why he won't release the true copy of his BC, or his college transcripts, or his passport(s). There is a bit more to being POTUS than a person just wanting a DL, yet the person wanting the DL must provide the BC, not some made up fabrication.

Please wake up and smell the coffee, Alice. The BC is just the tip of the iceburg. This man has evil intentions and will take us all down if not stopped. We managed to survive 4 years of Jimmah Catah. (Remember the "misery index"?) At the rate this ID10T is going, we probably won't last 2 years of this "administration".

With everything else going on...why are you people wasting time and energy on a birth certificate that has been verified 9 ways from Sunday. Put your energies and attention where it will do the most good. Quit looking for boogeymen and start paying attention to the real issues! Y'all are looking for a pig in a poke...it's like ya'll are too lazy to confront the real issues and it's easier to holler, "Obama won't show his birth cert...he must be hiding something!" Jeez Louise...get real people!!!!!!!!

If/when Obama crashes and burns, it will not be because of a birth certificate.

No it will be because he lost the trust of the voters.

He's already there, in record time.

My first clue this would happen was his reluctance to release a simple document.

Transparency my butt.

Then why do you bring up the birthers, you say they are silly but you continue to want to talk about it. You hijack a thread to get it back on the subject you say is silly!

We all have our own issues. We can debate each and every one. We can jump from side to side on each and every issue.

For me the issue is having issues in the first place.

There is the big NRA debate. "Join the NRA now!" "No don't join because if you do you get your name on the list of radicals" etc. etc. With lists being compiled, you no longer have freedoms of choice, freedom of the press (based on NRA publications) and compiling such lists from files is unreasonable search and seizure in my opinion.

Just look at how many times we have debated each other's religious beliefs righ here in this forum.

There is to much beyond our control. Obama was warned by his fellow blacks to drop the gun control issue. That was on a documentary right there on television. He finally realized that it would spark a civil war like we've never seen in this country. He knows little of our culture and does not want to learn. He knows little of all other cultures spread through out the U.S.

He is very simple minded and will not pursue global understanding. He does not want to understand us.

He has attempted crisis management with no success.

Democrats are now split as evidenced by the blue chip votes. When you read this forum liberals are saying the republican party has fallen apart.

Some are in denial. Some are beyond radical.

We need to identify solutions and not problems. Obama does not want to hear solutions from us. He is not listening. If he is not going to listen, there is no need to waste your breath.

BHB, here is someone who has begun to try to identify solutions...and it is cutting across both sides of the aisle. It has to do with our congressmen actually reading all legislation, every word...not just the part they are interested in... that they are asked to vote on...and making certain the legislation is posted online for at the very least 72 hours. I remember well when Obama said United States Citizens should and would be given 5 days to read all legislation before it was voted on. That has not happened. I think this is one heck of a good first step here...

alice that is well and good BUT

United States Senate, 7 have signed the pledge to actually read what they're voting for the American people.

In the House, only 86 have signed to actually read it, and so that's a total of 93 House and Senate who've agreed to read it, none of which is a Democrat.

Democratic congressman saying he doesn't have -- it would take two days and two lawyers.

As a Demorcrate what are you going to do to encourage your leadership to be more responsible?

who's writing these bills? How is it that, in only 6 months someone has been able to compile these 1000's of pages (3 bills in particular, stimulus, cap and trade, Health care)

I'll assume that there are many on this site that have compiled reports or studys, that are only a fraction of length and detail as these bills, and understand the work and time that goes into projects like these.

to read them and comprehend them would take more than 2 or 3 days for the lawmakers.

And when it is the future of the country etc that in essentially being debated, I think they should have the time required and not be rushed through.

Which is why I'm tickled to death that the blue dogs finally said ENOUGH and backed down Pelosi. The bill will not go for a vote until after the August recess giving all house members time to read it and listen to their constituents thoughts on it.

Rome wasn't built in a day, Hypocrite. As badly as you and Miss Orly would like to see your conspiracy" predictions" come true so you can beat your chest and holler "I told ya' so" that is not the way to set the right course.

Why are you so excited with the thought of the United States grinding to a halt amid turmoil and hate and discontent? That is what would happen if you, a Canadian, and Miss Orly, a Russian emigre, had your way! And as a natural born, United States citizen, that really ticks me off!

First, I am not a bonafide democrat. Second, none of my congressmen, house reps or Senators, are democrats, however I still write emails and write emails and simply get back their little nicey nice form letters dismissing me. I burned up my keyboard writing them to stop the bailout, don't rush the stimulus... And we see where that went anyway, don't we?

That democratic congressman saying it would take 2 days and 2 lawyers...wish I were in his district...he'd definitely hear the sharp side of my tongue over that statement. But I'm not in his district, and after that Republican crook Tom Delay had his way, very few Texans are in a democrat's district.

I'm proud of these folks that have initiated this pledge...they are being proactive in a bipartisan way and I have written my congressmen/woman, encouraging them to sign on. Hope old Kay Bailey does so before she turns in her resignation.

That is all I intend to say, Sage. I am not amenable to having my words twisted around and being told to continually justify and verify which happens all too often here. And NO, I'm not accusing you of anything...

I believe I have the truth. It's not the truth you accept, but it is the one I do. And, as much as I'd have loved to see Bush and Cheney impeached, indicted, and convicted for their blatant misuse and abuse of power during their administration, I can now see how devastating that would have been to our country.

However, if some governmental entity wants to yank a knot in Cheney (whom I believe to be GW's puppetmaster) now that's he's out of office, you'll hear no argument from me!

I have to agree with you Alice...It was one thing I agreed with Pelosi on- that an impeachment and trial would be too devastating to the country- even tho in the hearings all the Constitutional experts agreed there was enough evidence to bring about Impeachment proceedings against both...
The reason she wouldn't allow any Impeachment bill to get to a vote.....

Bull crap! Pelosi along with other Democrats knew any trial would expose them for the Hypocrites they are. She knows they knew exactly what was going on and accepted it and supported it until election time.

I wonder who is the bigger phony you or Pelosi? You know this!

I used to support Stenholm indeed and generally I find the best person for the job - in my opinion.

And yes I like you apprecitate the blue chips for doing the right thing.

We can all fight about things we disagree with or we can work together on the things we agree on.

Some were asking for this vetting to be done pre election, it was ignored. If it turns out that obama is indeed not eligible under the Constitutional provisions, there will heck to pay for sure.

But it won't be because of me, it will be because of those that turned a blind eye to the possibility and not properly vetting Obama and their total disrespect for the Constitution.

The fear of the consequences of not following the law/Constitution, does not absolve those that are continuing to disrespect the Constitution, it only makes it obvious that they are guilty.

I think it is a sad thing when a country like Honduras is an example of standing up for the their Constitution, while some US citizens make excuses why they cannot stand up for their's.

The vetting was done by McCain and the Congress. You can say it wasn't all you want to, and you will be wrong. SCOTUS refuses to hear the birther's lawsuits because they have no standing and because SCOTUS knows they are frivolous. End of conversation.
