The curfew is only good for the law abiding citizens. Looters, pillagers, thugs, and racists pay no attention to such things and must be dealt with accordingly.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Capt. Ronald Johnson said the shooting victim was in critical condition. Johnson said police used tear gas in an effort to reach the wounded person, but that other protesters already had taken the shooting victim to the hospital, Johnson said.

It was not clear who fired the shot, but Gov. Jay Nixon said Sunday that no police officers fired their guns during or after the protest.

Police also brought in armored tanks after learning of some disturbances at Reds Barbecue, a local restaurant. En route, officers encountered a man who flashed a handgun and appeared in the middle of the street as armored vehicles approached the crowd of protesters, Johnson said.

Johnson said someone also fired at a patrol car, but no officers were injured.

Johnson defended the use of military-style armored cars and tactical units dressed like soldiers. The situations faced by police justified their actions and tactics, he said.

"We have a shooting victim that is in critical condition that may lose their life," Johnson said. "We had a subject standing in the middle of the road with a handgun. We had a police car shot at tonight."

not sure at what point criminal activity has to get to before the police act.. but it should be before a person is shot.

Marijuana in Brown's system

Brown's autopsy also showed the teen had marijuana in his system at the time of his death. The toxicology test were conducted as a routine part of the autopsy.

News that drugs were possibly Brown's system is not new and on Friday, protestors took to the streets to call for tests on the officer who shot the unarmed teenager.

"What was in the system of that cop when he was pumping bullets into that boy's body?

The last statement above sounds just like something OT would say when he's making excuses and trying to spread blame.

Good investigators would have asked for and the officer given a blood sample to cover that possibility... Just good CYA..

No change of subject - an answer to your statement... Its something that is automatically done to get the true story as close as possible and in anticipation of questions that will come up in the future...

Hopefully the Coroner also swabbed the victim for firearm discharge residue- which could show up to prove the story of the gun going off while they wrestled over it... Also officer's probably boxed up and took the officers firearm- for both DNA and fingerprint testing as well as ballistics testing....

Nothing may show up- but it would be quite damning to the victims witness/friends story if not only did firearm discharge residue show up on the victim's hands and clothes - but that also his DNA or prints would be found on the officers gun and/or inside the officers car.....

A lot of taking this out of the "he said- she said" realm will be the forensic evidence...
